Sericulture was included in the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana(RKVY) schemes since 2010-11 with the initiatives of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India with the funding pattern of 100% subsidy. The main objectives of the Sericulture schemes under RKVY is to create better infrastructures for enhancement of all the four types of silk (Oak Tasar, Mulberry, Eri and Muga) production from the present level to the tune of 4%.
IMPLEMENTAION OF RKVY, 2010-11:
During the year 2010-11, Department had prepared Project proposal for an amount of Rs.35.00 lakh which was also approved by the State Level Sanctioning Committee(SLSC) but only a sum of Rs.17.00 lakhs was released by the Nodal Agency (Agriculture Department, Manipur) for the following schemes.

IMPLEMENTATION OF RKVY, 2011-12:
For this year, the SLSC had approved Detailed Project Report for an amount of Rs.170.00 lakhs for the implementation of various RKVY schmes but after revised the NodalAgency (Agri. Deptt) had released a sum of Rs.128.00 lakhs. During this year, no new schemes had been introduced. The same schemes which had been implemented in the previous year had been continued based on the demand. The State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) had approved Rs.260.00 lakhs for the implementation the following Sericulture schemes under RKVY. The fund was released as Rs.65.00 lakhs in 1st instalment and Rs.195.00 lakhs in 2nd instalment respectively. Again Nodal Agency (Agri. Deptt) had released a sum o Rs. 50.00 lakhs for stream- II.
